Teen Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Manatee County

The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of November 19 in East Manatee County, at the intersection of U.S. 301 and 116th Ave. E. The 18-year-old motorcyclist was riding on westbound U.S. 301 at a high rate of speed. As he entered the intersection at 116th Ave. E., a truck hauling a trailer entered his path.

The motorcyclist could not slow down in time. He collided with the left rear of the trailer. The impact caused him to be ejected from his motorcycle. He came to a rest in the intersection. Manatee County emergency responders arrived to provide medical treatment, but the rider died at the accident scene.

The truck driver, a 28-year-old man from Missouri, was not injured in the crash. The accident is still under investigation.
